The 1993 Copper Bowl serves as a pivotal moment in Kansas State football history. In Bill Snyder’s fifth year, the once-forlorn Wildcats had their best season they’d ever had to that point. The team went 9-2-1 overall, finished the season as a ranked team for the first time in program history, and did not lose to either of its ranked opponents on the schedule. The Copper Bowl was a perfect cap to their year – their 52-17 win over Wyoming was their first bowl win ever.
